Next we need some charts to work on even before we learn to trade we need to be able to have a look at charts and learn the platforms.
Trading view charts are very popular and clean to work with for our analysis they are free but there is a subscription for extra features like split screen and bar replay for back testing. Start with a free account and upgrade when needed. Black Friday seems to be the best time to upgrade for big discounts.
Ok so we now have trading view and know how to use it (ish form the video have a play around with it)
Next get a demo account with a broker so we can play around and not lose any real money. My main broker is FP markets and they are very good. Join them and create a demo account in the accounts panel then they give us the MT4 Login details or MT5 if you prefer.
I started also using Fusion markets and these seem great too and smaller commission on the raw account than FP seem similar conditions and spreads.
Download the MT4 from FP markets/ Fusion markets and run in on your pc once it installed use the login details they provided you with. I would load it onto a VPS but lets not make this confusing you could do that at a later date the VPS details are in Resources tab on this site.
Lets make the MT4 more optimised and the charts cleaner and add the account protector onto a chart I have done blogs on this:
Open another chart window and right click remove the account protector now we want to add another EA for trade management. So right now placing a trade and calculation risk is tricky. We can use an EA that does all this for us. Scroll down on the TFX link page and watch the video. You can select 1% risk per trade and you drag lines from the EA to where you want to enter and where you want stoploss ect and it auto calcs the risk and the lot size to take. This is $99 1 off payment but its worth its weight in gold. Buy and add the EA to the MT4 like you did with the account protector in the file ect... You can save that template as TFX if you like.
